SEO Secret Formula: More Reclusive Than North Korea

Any SEO company that you come across is going to claim to have the secret ingredient, magic wand, or golden gun to increase your page rank to number on search engines. Are they telling the truth?

The Secret Sauce

I get that companies that focus on search engine optimization want to pick up customers. Just like politics, there is a lot of mud slinging happening between all the competitors. Each one of these companies, or at least more often than not, claims to know the "secret ingredient" to get your page to rank.

Its like this. If we cannot even figure out what makes Coca-cola so damn delicious, what gives us the ability to pick apart technology companies like Google, Bing, and Yahoo and the manner they rank their search results? If we cannot figure out the secret ingredient in a soda, we sure the hell won't be able to discover the secret ingredient of SEO.

The Magic Wand...

First, though the internet is amazing, IT IS NOT HOGWARTS! You cannot just wave a magic wand (or at least not quite yet) and pull that iPad right out of the computer screen when you are online visiting the Amazon or other similar sites. The internet still takes a degree of work and part of this work for any SEO company is getting their page to be visible for users. To do this, they need to at least be on the first page of the search engines, but preferably within one of the top three results.

A lot of search engine optimization companies do not like to do the work that their clients need. Instead, many of them take short cuts and use black hat SEO on their clients websites and get its rank knocked down to where nobody will find it. NEVER HIRE AN SEO COMPANY THAT USES BLACK HAT TECHNIQUES!!!

SEO Golden Gun and Silver Bullet

To be quite blunt here, any company that leads you into thinking they have the SEO golden gun and can get you to rank almost immediately is blowing smoke up your ass. There really is no other way to say it. I challenge one search engine optimization company that makes any claim like this to prove it, using only white hat techniques. If you can show me a company that has the silver bullet to beat Google's Algorithm, I will move to North Korea and not leave until I have a photograph of Kim Jung Un on a Unicorn.

You ever hear the saying, " You can't BS a BSer? "?

Sadly, telling clients lies or half truths is the route that most SEO companies take. I would even go as far to say that even North Korea bolsters more truth than some search engine optimization companies. When it is all said and done, there is no SEO secret formula. Yes, there are some things that many SEO experts agree on, but a secret formula for SEO is still more reclusive than North Korea.

I Am Pariah

I am the Devils Advocate…
Yet I am God’s peacemaker…
So strange the irony,
That lives and grows
Inside of Me…

Walking the line,
Only putting toes across…
Feeling the pain and burn,
The single scapegoat
For a strangers turn…

What do I benefit?
Not a single thing…
To make peace and protect
Wounding pride,
Burning bridges
Only to resurrect…

I am Pariah,
Outcast of the Fallen...
Slave to Heavens Angels
Living the irony
Of life
Among all of its tangles...

How To Get The Most Out Of Your Hashtags

Knowing how to get the most out of hashtags on your Twitter account can be quite a challenge that is further complicated by Twitter Analytics programs online, but are these programs doing more harm than good?

All of the apps about Twitter Analytics are great don't get me wrong, especially when using them for maximizing your Twitter hashtags.  However, nothing can  replace the insights that can be gained from doing a little bit of the work yourself when it comes to analyzing and knowing about Twitter, your twitter hashtags and purpose of your account . There is just something about collecting certain information, inputting yourself, and looking overall the results that can truly lead to that "Eureka Moment" for an individuals Twitter account that cannot be produced by any Twitter Analytics program currently on the internet. This is whether it is for an individual, a group of people supporting a cause, or even a business looking to gain better insights on their consumers, a lot can be gained by giving your Twitter Analytics a touch of humanity.

For this reason, I have created the following template of information that is necessary to gather in this way to truly get the most out of your Twitter account and to ensure the best experiences for the people that you are following and your followers. At the end of the day, most people tend to desire more followers, but the Twitter accounts we are following can be just as important (it seems a lot of people forget this).

One of the best components of any Twitter Analytics program or really just in general for your Twitter account, is being able to get the most out of your hashtags. These hashtags offer a simple and effective way for a person to search for Tweets that fall into a common topic (More Information Can Be Found About Hashtags At: Tech For Luddites and the awesome article they have on the subject ). Twitter Hashtags have essentially become the backbone of the platform and an established aspect across several social networks.

Twitter Hashtags and Information For (Insert Your Twitter Username Or Business Name Here) (Date)

1. (Twitter Hashtag You Wish To Track) Note: For this first template I am going to be recommending  http://hashtagify.me/ to gather the information that I mention about Twitter Hashtags and manual Twitter Analytics. However, I plan on expanding this template in the future and the scope of the sites used.
Popularity:
  • 1 Week Trend-
  • 1 Month Trend-
Top Influences (Get the top five- top seven influences for the Twitter hashtag you entered)

  1. (Top Influence)

  • Based In-
  • Website-
  • Tweets-
  • Following-
  • Followers-
  • Shared Followers-
  • Interacted with?: ( Answer either yes or no. If answer is yes how did you interact? Favorite a Tweet? Follow? RT? Mention?)
  • Interaction Back?: ( Yes or no. If answer is yes, in what ways did the top influence interact back with you?)
  • On A List?: ( Yes or No. What List On Twitter. Why are they on that list?)
  • Other Notes: ( Other general notes for this follower and any future plans of interaction that you may have)
Repeat The Above Format For The Top 5-7 Influences For Your #

2.  Twitter Hashtags Related To Main Twitter Hashtag

  • (Your Related Hashtag)    http://hashtagify.me/ offers a mind map showing several related #'s to the general one that you typed in, all of this for free.)
Popularity:

Correlation To Original #: ( This will show you exactly how related it is to the original twitter hashtag that you entered. Each individual tag can be clicked out and broke down to other related tags using   http://hashtagify.me/ . However, simplicity is the focus of this first manual Twitter Analytics template.)

Continue using this format for each branch of the mind map and related Twitter Hashtags. Just because a tag has a low popularity or low correlation does not mean that a creative and effective use cannot be found for it.

3. 2 To 3 Ideas To Utilize Main Twitter Hashtag and Minor Twitter Hashtags for Manual Twitter Analytics ( Insert A Time Period of 1 Week) Note: By this I mean creative, unique, and different ways to engage your users using not only your Twitter Hashtags, but other popular Twitter Hashtags to go along with them. The purpose of researching, typing, and studying the information in this template is to achieve a perspective that regular Twitter Analytics apps cannot give you. Take this opportunity to jot down a few ideas or maybe even to create a mind map of your own.

While these steps of how to get the most out of your hashtags when using manual Twitter analytics will take a good bit of time ( and believe me, they do), the possible pay off and benefits of following this template could indeed be great. Though I am just coming up with this idea and have not had a complete opportunity to test it, I still feel strongly that no program that analyzes the information on your Twitter hashtags can replace or outshine the possibilities that can be established by adding some humanity to your Twitter Analytics.

What do you think of this basic template for your hashtags?

Do you also feel that some tasks are better left to actual people vs. computers?

Are you planning on trying to use this template for your Twitter Account, Twitter Hashtags, and starting to use manual Twitter Analytics? ( Feel free to do so, I am offering it free to use for any that feel they may benefit. The only cost to you is to provide feedback with its results for you or any suggestions you may have)

It is recommended that aspects of this template for your Twitter Hashtags are updated on a weekly basis ( Popularity of main twitter hashtag, popularity of top 3 Twitter Hashtags that are related to your main tag, interactions with/ from top influences, and 2 to 3 other unique ideas for your main twitter hashtags).

Depending on the feedback that I receive on this initial post concerning how to get the most out of your hashtags and Twitter Analytics with a human touch, I plan on expanding this basic idea and focusing more on information that needs to be entered by human hands to truly reap its full benefit. An example of this will be a template of information that may be useful for maximizing your twitter hashtags and using manual Twitter analytics with a monthly, tri-monthly, bi-annual, and annual report of the information collected with manual Twitter analytics.

How Safe Is My Child From Social Corruption?

Part of being a parent is knowing how safe is your child in any given situation. However, one situation that many people do not consider to ask may actually come as quite as a surprise.

How Safe Is My Child From Social Corruption?

While on the surface this looks like the template for most general questions that a parent may ask, especially since we have a tendency to turn the social majority during times of need. Turning to society when asking if your child is safe from social corruption is like asking a crackhead if your crack rock is safe with him. In the case of the crack head, we can all agree and plainly see that would not be a wise choice. When it comes to getting society’s opinion on keeping your child safe from social corruption we mysteriously become blind to wisdom and logic.

Instinctive Protection For Your Child

First, when it comes to answering any issues of how safe your child is, it should always be remembered that while they are still young and unable to make their own sensible decisions. It is this lack of decision-making development that a child truly is never safe. A parent has to be on guard against everything, everyone, and at everyplace 24/7, 365 days a year. This deep sense of protection for children is something so instinctive that it is something that most of us do not even have to think about, we simply just do it. The thing about society and social corruption is that they attempt to mislead you into believing that they too are a result of instinct, thus they should be treated as such.

Yes, it is true that society has been around in various manifestations since the creation of man. The thing about these previous societies though is that they greatly differed in their demographics, ideas, and time frame than our own. In the status quo, society attempts to tell you that it has not changed for years, just like the instinctive need to protect a child. It is just something that you go with the flow on when it comes to being alive on earth and interacting with general society.

The instinctive NEED to protect a child is a part of our evolution that has not changed the least bit over the course of time.

Society on the other hand has changed many times and will change many more during a lifetime. It is this perpetual state of change and the use of many metaphorical masks that you should really consider asking how safe is your child from social corruption? Am I the only one that feels threatened, paranoid, and unsafe at the thought of seeing society as just another part of life we go through and never change, just one more lie to the list?

Am I the only one that is worried for the future of our children when they grow up and only know social corruption?

I would like to think that I am not the only parent worried about social corruption having an effect on the life of my child. Something to keep in mind here, there is a difference in social corruption and morality, what may be considered justice in one may be taboo in the other. One thing that you definitely know now when it comes to how safe is your child from social corruption is that they are not safe at all. In fact, social corruption is one of the most dangerous poisons to our children and their minds. Teach your child to critically, creatively, and candidly ask questions about how society works and how do the people within it live. The biggest step that any parent can make for their child is to raise them with an open mind, open heart, and a soul opposed to social constructs.

Can We Really Trust The Government & The War On Drugs?

Can We Really Trust The Government & The War On Drugs?

When it comes to the War On Drugs, the last 40+ years reinforced a lesson that should have been learned during the prohibition of alcohol. Prohibition inherently fails, perpetuates problems, and keeps the United States Government and the rest of the world from reaping the benefits that would be created in a different policy framework. For example, look at all the benefits that could come from the legalization of marijuana and hemp. When it comes to our best interest, can we really trust the government and their stance of an all out war on drugs?

Recently, the United States Government has been sending all sorts of crossed signals when it comes to the War On Drugs and marijuana. One day it seems that we can trust the government to make the right decision and adopt a Smart On Drugs approach. Then the next day they decide to take three steps back on the issue.

To prove my point here, Obama was recently quoted as saying that marijuana is no more dangerous than alcohol. After saying this, it did not take long for a White House spokesman to reassure over half of the American people in favor of marijuana legalization that the administration's stance on the issue had not changed. How can we really trust the government and their agenda of a War On Drugs when their rhetoric and actions are totally conflicting?

In my opinion of whether or not we can really trust the government the answer is no. I am not going to place my faith in an ideology that has been nothing but over 40 years of failure. Furthermore, I am not putting my hopes to do the right thing any time soon in a nation that did not learn anything from the prohibition of alcohol. Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. That is exactly what has been happening with the War On Drugs during its entire existence.

Content Mill Or Launch Pad To Success

One thing that every freelance writer dreads is being sucked into a content mill where they are only offered low paying jobs that are not worth their time or effort. One such place that many claim is nothing more than a content mill is Elance. A good bit of articles on the internet, individuals on LinkedIn, and many other social media outlets claim that you will never make it as a freelancer on Elance. Is there any truth in their claim?

In my opinion, the answer is NO!

The basis for my opinion on this is that I originally worked in an actual mill, a carpet mill to be exact. I was there for nearly three years and saw my life going no where. It can be so difficult to advance or go anywhere in such a place and was told by many people there, people who had been doing the same job for 40+ years, that it was nothing but a dead end job. The reason for this is because in a work enviroment such as a mill it can be extremely hard to work your way up and stand out. Even if you are a hard worker, which I was, most of the time the only way to move up is with deceit, back stabbing, and lies. Those methods are no ways to live and make a name for yourself. However, I sine being on Elance I can actually see a future for myself.

However, in freelance writing on Elance I have found a way that my hard work can actually pay off and be recognized. Am I going to make the same rate of pay that I did, $13.13 an hr., when I started I know that I did not. Too many people approach freelance writing websites such as Elance in hopes that they will instantly make more money than whatever job they did previously. It takes time, patience, and effort. Here are a couple things that I have found to work.

  • Balance- Don't expect to be making big bucks right off the rip on Elance. It takes time to build up your reputation. Originally, I could only get fixed price jobs. I was having a hard time finding a WorkView job which is essential. Once you do manage to get a WorkView job, get a couple fixed priced jobs to go along with it. Even at some of the low rates offered in workview jobs if you add in a couple fixed price jobs you will likely end up making close to what you did in your previous jobs, but logging less hours.
  • Persistence- Be persistent and active in the freelance writing community, a good place for Elancers is the Elance Professional Network on LinkedIn.
  • Do Not Let the NaySayers Get You Down- It can be easy to give up on Elance when you read some of the articles on the net. For the most part though, it has gotten very good reviews. The people who complain about it and claim it is a content mill likely did not put very much effort into actually establishing themselves on Elance.
Bottom line, Elance can be a great launch pad to being successful as a Freelance writer. You wont be able to wave a magic wand and be great, but that is the truth of anything in life. Content Mill or not, the environment offered by being a freelance writer is completely different than any actual mill setting. Honestly, I think the term "content mill" is a bit of a misnomer, and this is coming directly from somebody that had to deal with working in an actual mill for several years.  What do you think, Content Mill or Launch Pad To Success?
